First owned by East German Stasi (The Ministry for State Security). It was assigned to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in East Berlin between 1971-1980 as a diplomatic car used exclusively as a spy courier car between East and West and involved in many PLO European missions.

Initially purchased by the East German communist government in 1971 from communist Czechoslovakian carmaker Tatra for governmental use, it was first assigned to East German Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and later that year to The Ministry For State Security .Subsequently it was gifted to Yasser Arafat and the newly established PLO office in East Berlin in 1971.

This PLO Berlin office was the first one in all of Europe to gain diplomatic recognition. It allowed the members of PLO organization in Berlin to freely move throughout Eastern and Western Europe on their operative missions. This Tatra encompasses the history of the communist era of the Eastern block and extends to include the connection with the Middle East and the problems faced between the East and West through the oil -money power struggle.

This beautifully restored car would be an exceptional addition to any major private or public collection. Restored to A1 condition in Koprivnice (manufacturing town of Tatra cars since 1897) , Czech Republic in 2012-2013.
